Nine looks, hand-tuned
Each look was tuned on a real, crowded desktop, not a demo folder. Pick one and every icon puts it on. Shape, coloring, plate, finish, and shortcut mark stay adjustable on their own.

Zones drawn on your wallpaper
Translucent panels that live inside the wallpaper itself, so your desktop gets rooms: apps here, work there, current projects front and center.

Behind every look is a purpose-built, fully deterministic pixel pipeline. It studies each icon before touching it, and renders byte-identical pixels in the browser and on the desktop.

Download, double-click, done. Installs per-user, runs entirely on your PC. No account, no telemetry, no uploads.
Windows may show a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen. That is not a virus warning.
It is Windows being cautious with newer software few people have downloaded yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. DeskMakeover is open source, so anyone can read exactly what it does.

Questions people ask
Can DeskMakeover break my PC, or leave me stuck?
No. DeskMakeover snapshots the Windows desktop (icons, shortcut arrows, wallpaper) before changing anything, and every change is one click to undo, back to exactly how it was. Experiment freely.
Will it slow my computer down?
Not noticeably. DeskMakeover does the heavy work once when you hit apply. The rest of the time it sits quietly and puts your look back if Windows resets the desktop.
Is it really free? What is the catch?
DeskMakeover is free and MIT-licensed, with the source on GitHub. It runs only on your machine: no account, no telemetry, nothing uploaded.
Does it work on macOS or Linux?
No. DeskMakeover is built for Windows 10 (1809 or newer) and Windows 11, 64-bit.
